The Community Academy Public Charter School (CAPCS) operates a K-8 online public charter school in the District (in addition to five brick and mortar campuses). Students who are eligible to enroll in a DCPS school are eligible to enroll in CAPCS Online. Students learn primarily from home under the direction of a parent or other responsible adult (grandparent, nanny, etc.), using curriculum and materials provided by the school. Certified teachers provide teaching to students both online and in face-to-face settings. The school website is: www.capcsonline.org.
Disclaimer: I work for the company that provides curriculum and services to this school. However, it is a unique public school option in DC for students in Kindergarten through Eighth Grade and I wanted to make parents aware of it. |
