I have an open floor plan with a small kitchen with awful beige/tan granite. The whole house was painted buff beige (I guess before gray was wildly popular). I'd love to paint the main area of the house all gray, but not clash with the kitchen. You really have to be near the kitchen to see the countertop. Maybe I could do a greige-gray, and then paint the backsplash a more pop-out color like a wythe blue? Need help! |
can you find a picture online of your granite? |
I recommend Hazy Skies by Ben Moore. Just had a crew repaint our (piecemeal renovated) 1971 kitchen in this color and it is quite a transformation.
Did lots of research on greige colors and this was listed as a newer favorite with decorators. Is not a flat gray. In our sunny kitchen, it looks warm and clean and contemporary. used the same paint on our adjacent family room and there's a pretty green tone in certain light. |

Thanks for this tip - I will get a tester. |
OK, I think im set on Hazy Skies - but I need a pop of color in the backsplash area in the kitchen that will match the icky tan/beige granite and tie it all together. Would some kind of mint color work? |
