Coach Doug sports class reviews

Anyone tried a "Coach Doug" sports class? We are thinking of doing the tennis/soccer class for our almost 4 boy who loves both of those sports and keeps asking about playing with other kids.

Crappy. 40 kids, one coach and tons of parents. The one day we were there he spent a good portion on his phone. We never went back.

It was ok. Not great. We did a parent drop off class except most parents insisted on staying which negated my reason for putting my child in the class.

We did a sports class when my ds was 3. We liked coach Doug, he knew how to handle kids during transitions and he showed that he liked them all equally (as opposed to playing favorites, which I've seen in other classes). Coach Doug flirts with a few of the moms, which is unsettling. But he's harmless. My kid liked the class a lot.

I just wanted to write my experience here. My son started the class three weeks ago. Kids are 4-6. First week my son was kicking the soccer ball as he was told to. "Coach" Doug kicked the ball out from him. My son was confused. I thought it was strange, but didn't think too much more about it. Second week, same thing happened again, several times. Also, he kicked the soccer ball toward my son when he was with me getting a drink from his water bottle. Hard. I started keeping an eye on the other kids, to see if he was doing that sort of thing to everyone. Nope. No one else. Third week (today) my son was trying to throw a football to me. Doug walked up and had a football and literally threw it right at my kids face. My son looked at him and kind of smiled (very confused). I was shocked and asked my son if he was ok. Doug laughed. And, did it again. It was completely intentional. It is very obvious that this man targeted my son for whatever reason and was basically bullying him. Needless to say, we are certainly not going back. I intend to call the county and complain.

I have to say I agree with the other negative reviews above as well. This man clearly just goes through the paces. Spends lots of time on his phone. He also definitely has his favorites. He LOVES the jock type guys who grunt and cheer their kids on during the class (so completely ridiculous).

Anyway, I definitely would not sign my kid up for ANY of his classes. Sad, because they sound so good.

I'll never forget Doug snapping at my kid. And that was almost a decade ago. Never went back.
