6 month old still gassy, especially at night, any advice

Anonymous
Our 6 month old (born one month early) suffers from terrible gas pains, it's manageable during the day but she wakes up almost every hour at night in pain. I've tried the elimination diet (eating only pears, green beans, squash, rice, potatoes and turkey for 2 weeks). That hasn't seemed to help.

Does anyone else have this issue, did anything work for you? Thanks!

We used mylicon and LOTS of burping. Our DD was/is formula fed, however.

I also tried eliminating essentially everything that could possibly cause gas issues and unfortunately, nothing helped. I had to just wait it out until my DD's intestinal system got more mature. I know it's not what you want to hear - sorry!

mylicon every 3 hours, even when he/she is sleeping (it didn't wake our baby up when we did this at night)

Mylocon worked for us but ours is just 6 weeks old and has reflux as well so is already on medicine for that too. Regardless both have taken the screaming and pain factors down; he's a different baby since being on them.

Have you tried gripe water? not a nightly solution, but it's a good soother for colic, gas, teething. the ones on the market are non-alcoholic. Google it for more info.
