traffic to Kings Dominion from DC on a weekday?

Will there be traffic heading south on 95 from DC to Kings Dominion, on a weekday this week?

We went last Friday and traffic was terrible on the way there. It should have taken us 1.5 hours (we're in VA) and it took over 2 hours. Traffic on the way home was a breeze (we stayed until closing at 10). Maybe traffic is better Monday-Thursday.

I-95 is quite unpredictable, though.

We're thinking of making this trip tomorrow from Northern Virginia. Should we wait until after rush hour (head out at 9:30am?) or do you think most traffic is heading into DC so we would be okay to leave earlier around 8am?
