Any all-inclusives in the US?

Any all inclusives in the US? Hoping to get a few days away from the kids with hubby, sometime late July. Don't want to go somewhere where the weather is 95+ degrees if possible.

thanks!

There aren't many places in the US that aren't that hot in July! I believe there is someplace on the west coast of Michigan (Portage Point?) . . . is it essential that it be all-inclusive?

Not sure what you have in mind in terms of fancy/more laid-back, but we loved the Tyler Place in Vermont when our kids were little. It's very New England with simple accommodations, but lots of outdoor fun (tennis, swimming, sailing, kayaking, cycling, etc.), great food and -- most important -- a wonderful kids program. The way it works is that you have breakfast as a family, then kids go to their program through lunch, afternoons are family time, then kids return to programs for dinner and a little while after that. Nothing fancy and you don't need "resort-y" clothes -- it's the anti-Lily Pulitzer look. We outgrew it when our youngest was 6 or so, but have very happy memories -- and are even thinking about going back this summer as our oldest (now 15) ages out of the kids program after this year.

Club Med Sandpiper is in FL, so may not meet your criteria of being less than 95 degrees in July. It is fantastic, though. Lots of activities for the kids and adults. Closest airport is west palm beach and you can get relatively cheap flights there. The resort is about an hour's drive from the airport. The resort will do return transport for a fee, but we've always found it is cheaper to just rent a car. For some reason, renting minivans out of west palm has been ridiculously cheap both times we did it. We're going in about two weeks and got a minivan from alamo for $110 for the week.

Sandpiper is closing down for major renovations at the end of August so it may be booking up for the Summer. The renovations are LONG overdue -- the facilities are a bit run down and the rooms are pretty 80s. However, I haven't found that any of this detracts from the stay. Also, currently, the rooms are enormous with large walk-in closets. I don't know if that will change post-renovation, though.

The food is fantastic.
