Cost and effectiveness for those who've used it? |
Who knows what the cost is, since research is showing more and more how toxic pyrethrin is. Plus it kills honeybees and butterflies.
DEET has a good safety profile and you can just spray it on when going outside. And your kids get to live in a world with fish and honeybees. It's win-win. |
Do a search, there are lots and lots of threads on this. |

OP - excellent experience. $425 for the summer, its like renting your yard back to yourself. |
We've had good results with the natural treatment. It's a little more expensive since they have to come more often. It doesn't work as well as the pyrmethrin (the regular treatment), but it's good enough. We can use our backyard. |
I feel like we've had far fewer mosquitoes this year than usual (in Kensington). I'm not sure what the difference is. We don't use anyone to spray. |
I agree that the mosquitoes have not been bad this year (no spraying). |
Might try the real estate thread or gardening as well. And google here. We use, opens up the outdoors during the summer, product has been well tested and in the quantities sprayed is totally safe and fine. |

It is very effective and works well. We have a different company come very 3 weeks and don't suffer mosquito bites. They will also come back multiple times during the 3 week window. |
Np here PP, I suggest the same to you. This person is absolutely correct. I might also suggest planting something besides a toxic lawn. Maybe some native plants and flowers that will attract birds and insects that Eat mosquitoes and larvae. Piling chemicals on helps no one. |
+1 ... It's a bit more expensive and treatments have to be applied every 2 weeks. Id recommend it as well, though they state upfront it's not AS effective as regular treatment. |
