White Women: the Global Standard of Beauty?

Anonymous
Why are white women upheld as the global standard of female beauty all around the world? Is there some truth to it? Is there something about the facial and body proportions of white women that are universally aesthetically appealing?

Please discuss.

It's no white exactly, just more Euro features.

You really felt the need to start ANOTHER thread for this?

No biracial women now are. Women who have white features with darker skin are now the standard. Pale skin isn't in anymore.

Ugh. Give me a hot-blooded Latina any day. Dark and mysterious beats blonde farmgirl any day.

I'm not the OP, but I don't understand. Is there another thread about beauty standards?

Is that why white women tan so much and get lip injections for fuller lips and butt implants for a thicker rear and wear mascara to make their eyelashes darker?

Seems they're the ones trying to have more ethnic features....

I'm very white (as in extremely pale) and I do not think my type is held up in any way at all.

There are beautiful people of all skin types. Just look at Benetton, Gap, etc.

Anyone can be beautiful. But many societies have always admired pale skin (Europeans, Asians) because it meant you were rich enough not to have to work the fields and be tan.

This is the answer, right here.

The paler you are, the more generations of your ancestors could afford to be indoors (read: rich).

It's the influence of the western media invading other parts of the world, and that's it. When you have an image plastered everywhere, in your face, 24/7, that's what your ideal becomes.

There was some Pacific Island where the standard of beauty for women was being heavy, then western media invaded that island, and the incidence of bulimia went up. Coincidence? I think not.

Post colonial cultures also tend to inherently look up to their one white masters as the standard for many things. Their fair skin and facial features definitely.

..not when they get older. Caucasian skin does not age well.

The desirable women are not naturally occurring in nature and require plastic surgery and hair coloring. Olive white skin, blonde hair, large breasts, thin waist, thigh gap bikini bridge
