| How much does preschool for part-time cost? ballpark figure. Much appreciated |
| Between $150-300 a month, generally. In Fairfax. |
| We paid $225/month for part time preschool through fairfax park and rec. it was two days/week for four hours/day. |
| Our church-based preschool is around $400 for the 5-day 4 yr olds class, going down to $230 for 2-day 2 yr olds. |
| Wow. I am paying a lot. $600 a month for 10 months. 8:45 - 12 5 days a week Montessori in a northern Silver Spring area. church based schools by us much cheaper for PT coverage but do not have the option of transitioning into FT coverage which we wanted to have. |

Places with Montessori or other teaching philosophies (rather than a church-based preschool or general play-based school) tend to be more expensive. The teachers usually have more training/education and might have been with the school for a longer time than at the other schools.
My old school was about $250/month for 2 mornings a week. My new school (not Montessori, but similar) is more -- about $800/month for 5 mornings a week. |
| In DC it's MUCH more expensive. But sounds like you're not looking in the city. |
That is really expensive. |
+1 in DC it is much more expensive |
PP here. I agree, but it is what it is. It's a great school, and although we kind of regret the move now based on finances, I think it'll be good for our kid in the long-run. I didn't realize how much more expensive it was than our old school at the time we decided on it (just didn't do the math as well as I should have). However, it's also in DC, whereas the other schools were suburban, which I think makes a difference as well in cost. |
| I'm paying a little less than $600 for two. My three year old will go two mornings a week and my four year old will go five mornings a week. It's something like...$200 for the 3 year old and $400 for the 4 year old. |
| $750/month for 5 days a week 9-1. |
I'm this PP and we are in DC. |
| I'm confused. Isn't preschool free in DC? |
| I think that i'm going to pay $150/1 day a week for for hours and $500 for 5 days a week for four hours a day this year. |
