Looking for therapist recommendations - for a verbally abusive person and for me

Anonymous
DH is verbally abusive and is getting worse. It's heartbreaking to see the way that it impacts our young kids. I'm not sure that he'll take it, but I want to find him help and try to save my kids and our family. I'm looking for recommendations for a therapist for DH and one for me so that I can try to learn some strategies to cope with it better and to help my kids. I don't think that marriage therapy is the answer because we'll just spend the time arguing with eachother. Ideal locations would be Bethesda and/or DC (near the Capitol, or NW).

I wish you the best of luck. Have you read "Why Does He Do That"?

It's an excellent guide to deciding how to recognize abusive behavior and to help you set up plans for getting out if he continues to get worse.

Look on psychologytoday.com and click on find a therapist. You can put in your zipcode and pull up local therapists. That's how I found mine.
