Encopresis - Need recs as Nurse Malone has moved to Boston! :(

Anonymous
Devastated to learn today that Nurse Malone has moved to Boston. She was the only provider who actually "got it" when it comes to this issue. Of course, the practice has recommended we see another one of their docs. Specifically, Rehtman. I've read bland reviews on her treatment of kiddos with this condition. We've been dealing with this issue for 1+ year and it has most recently returned with some frequency. Ugh. Would appreciate hearing recs for other pediatric GI doctors/nurses in the area with whom folks have had success (good bedside manner, understands what's going on, not just Miralax tmt). Our experience at CNMC was terrible so not intersted in returning there.

Thanks!

We just saw Dr. Sood at G'town after trying to get an appt with Nurse Malone only to realize she had left. She was OK. On my own, I had started following a program called Soiling Solutions and Dr. Sood was amenable to that approach (though she did tell me to start the Miralax again after having stopped it). She did pretty well with my child. I think most medical providers really believe in the top down approach and will push that sort of solution (Miralax or other oral agents). :/

Would try Soiling Solutions but had fierce battles before when tried to give enemas - so resigned to treatment sans enemas. We did Miralax for almost a year with little success so planning on sticking with ExLax. Just frustrating that there's a dearth of decent providers in this area of focus.
