Not enough electrical outlets! Nightlight question

Anonymous
We just moved into a 1924 home that hasn't ever been extensively renovated. The upstairs hallway need a nightlight, badly, but there is not a single outlet in the whole hallway! It's seriously dark and I need a solution. Any suggestions welcome!

I would either hire an electrician to put an outlet in the hallway or replace the switch with a dimmer switch and just turn the hallway light fixture very dim when you go to bed at night.

We don't have an outlet in our bedroom hallway but we do keep a nightlight plugged in the hallway bathroom and we leave our front porch light on all night (on a timer to go off at dawn) and between those 2 light sources there is enough light to make the hallway safe enough.

I would think any battery operated nightlight would end up costing you a fortune in Batteries over time.

When DS and I went camping, I used a mini lantern with batteries (made by coleman) as a nightlight. I'm sure that would do the trick until you get place rewired.

Also, once you get outlets in there, there are table lamps that have nightlights within them. It'd be worth doing this to save outlets in the bedroom.

do you have a light switch? You can get an illuminated light switch.
