| We're taking our kids to Hershey Park. Help me plan for the day. There are water rides and not water rides. Do I pack changes of clothing? Make everyone do water rides at the same time so that everyone can get wet but then be done with it? Should I bring goofy stuff like trash bags and ziplocks to keep my backpack/purse dry? Water shoes for the day? Other tips from the amusement park veterans? I appreciate any BTDT ideas. Thanks! |
| I haven't been there in a couple years, but as I recall the water park part was pretty separate from the rest of the park. So I would get there at the opening, do what you can with the regular park, and plan to do the waterpark in the early afternoon when it gets really hot. |

How old are your kids?
I have been there several times and never done the water park area. It's small, it's crowded, and when too crowded they restrict access. First year we went and our kids were 5, we didn't even bother to go near it and they never even realized there was a water park. |
| There are lockers, they're pricey |
| We were there two weeks ago and these are my takeaways: Be there when the park opens and head to the more popular rides. Don't be distracted by the rides towards the entrance, you can do those or not on your way home. My kids had their swimsuit on under their clothes so we only had towels in the bag and flip flops in the bags. If they wear water shoes/sandals for the day, then you won't even need to park flip flops. We did the water park rides last and they quickly showered and changed out of their wet clothes in the restroom when they were done. They loved the water park and the crowd was as expected. You can bring in a water bottle and any of the vendors that sell soda from the soda machine will fill it up with water and ice for you free. There really is no way to get around buying the expensive food inside the park but there are plenty of options. A whole pizza costs about $30 in there. We just had one backpack for all five of us and we didn't rent a locker. I guess if we all had gone into the water park (my dh and I didn't), we would have needed a locker. We loved it. Have fun. |
Can't you pack a picnic in a cooler and get stamped and tailgate at lunch time? That's what we do at King's Dominion. |
