Is it worth having laminate or hardwood throughout the house with kids

Carpet is disgusting.
Do you *have* children? They spill stuff. A lot. And if they're young they have accidents. I'd much rather wipe stuff of wood or laminate than try to suck it out of carpet. Plus, dust settles in carpet. Gross. |

| I agree with PP. Carpet is gross and kids destroy it. Laminate is a PAIN where water is concerned. One "issue" and its coming up. I love hardwoods. |

Carpet is nasty.
we have 20 year old hardwoods and they look great. They're oak and have held up well. Previous owners raised 3 boys in our house. |
