Our DS is turning 3 and I'm stumped for birthday party ideas. We are in Arlington and last year we did the party at JW Tumbles. It was great but I'd like to do something different. I'd prefer to have the party out somewhere. Any ideas?
I suspect the fire station is for older kids, right? |
| At three years old, we just did simple parties at home for the kids. We blew up balloons and used a needle and thread to string them together, then taped them to the ceiling. When the kids woke up, the ceiling was covered in balloons. Around 11, friends from play group and my mom and dad came over for lunch. The kids played, and we did cake, ice cream and presents. |
| There is a brand new indoor play place called BusyBees that we went to recently. My 3yr old DD and 4yr old DS loved it and it's perfect for that age range. It's not a bouncy place. They have unique structures that I hadn't seen before. |
| I think fire station is perfect for 3. |
It's probably already booked as they book very far in advance. It's alao $20/kid Try Jumping Joeys or Busy Bees. Little Gym is also good for that age. |

Picnic at one of the fun Arlington spray parks.
5 boys max. Popsicles and birthday cake and call it a success. Take lots of photos. |

Hi Op here.
The birthday is in November so a spray park and popsicles won't work. I'll definitely look into Busy Bees. I'm not familiar with it. |
| My son turned three this year and we had his party at the Y gymnastics facility. Pretty similar to JW Tumbles. On the three year old birthday party circuit, other than the gym parties, there were a couple at nature centers, which were fun if your kid is into that kind of thing. We attended one in February, so I imagine they do them year round. They do both indoor and outdoor activities. I'm sure it kind of depends on the weather. |
We've been to a 4 year old party at the Woodmont (Y) gymnastics center. My boy loved it, and was exhausted after it was over. |
| My 3 year old LOVED a recent b-day party we went to at Chuck E Cheese. There's one in Fairfax and in Alexandria. |
| We did my son's third at the fire station - it was 15/child and included a goody bag. |
+1 but it was $20/kid for us. And it's really a donation to the fire house. |
