We are going for a traditional pub feel: pool table, dark bar with corbels and a brass rail, game table, dart board, brown leather couches, etc. I am torn about colors. The floor we ordered is a darker cherry vinyl plank, with more of a brown undertone than red. The floor had to match existing wood so it cannot be changed. We are trying to decide what color we want to go with on the bar. Should we go slightly darker or slightly lighter for the stain color? We keep going back and forth. Because it is a basement we are keeping the wall colors lighter so it doesn't feel like a cave down there. Any thoughts on the trim? The trim in tue rest of the house is a crsip white so that is my preference, but would that look funny with the dark wood on the bar? Would love to hear opinions or see posts of ideas that we might not have seen. |
I love the look of Brazilian cherry. I would go a shade lighter on the bar stain.
In terms of wall color, I'd avoid brown, since you'll have so much brown in the cabinets, flooring, and furniture. What is the countertop? Perhaps you could play off a color in that? |
