how do i patch a small hole in orange peel drywall

Like nail holes or a hole caused by a doorknob lock hitting the wall? Is there a way to replicate the texture? We have several old patches from previous owners that look weird because they are smooth and the rest of the wall is that orange peel texture. Just wondering if there is a way to replicate it in the future.

Use far less sparkle and only cover the actual blemish.

You can buy a can of it at Home Depot. Just use a light hand and add more as needed.
