what color in sherwin williams matches Benjamin moore's GREY OWL? Thanks! |
You mean which one is the same hue? Just go to a Sherwin Williams store and tell them you want one of their paints in BM Grey Owl. They'll match it exactly for you. It's all in their computer. |
I love Grey Owl - used it in several rooms in my house. Upon googling I found this: http://ths.gardenweb.com/discussions/2473621/help-painter-switched-brands-and-colour-matched-owl-gray Sounds like you might be out of luck. |
Even if they don't have it in their computer (but probably do), just take the color card to them and they'll scan it in. They live for that. |
If you can I'd get the paint at Benjamin Moore. This way if you need more or to match you don't have to worry. They have set formulas for their proprietary colors. When you do a color match the formula can change each time the sample is scanned IMO. |
Actually, I've been in this situation. Sherwin Williams keeps your purchase history for a while so if you need to come back, they have your color formula on file. I've heard that BM is great paint but the folks at SW sure are nice and helpful when I need something. |
op here so mad the painter used the match and it is Blue!!!! not grey!!
|
So Sherwin Williams matched it incorrectly? Or does it show up blue in your house because of lighting, etc.? |
i believe they matched it incorrectly how in the world will grey show up blue? |
Get the Benjamin more paint chip (card) for your color. Take it home and hold it up to the wall. If it doesn't match, complain to Sherwin Williams and have them give you a credit for the paint.
Usually, when they color match a paint chip, they will put a drop of the newly mixed paint right on the card to make sure it matches. Depending on the lighting in your house, gray could appear blue. |
I've had saw color match owl gray twice and it always came out exactly right. Get compliments on those rooms all the time. |
Just bought a color match gadget from SW that matches any paint color. It looks like an address stamp and I push it down on a paint color, chip, wall or fabric and it gives the closest match. Love it! |
