Read a thread today on this forum which made me realize that perhaps I should have persisted with LOs swim lessons. We did one class with the county at age 1 and it was a terrible expericence for both LO. LO has a lot of fear related to water., even bath time is tough.
My parents were in their 40s when I was 5 and they gave up when I had a near-drowning experience. I would like to learn now so I can support my LO's learning. Late evening classes in fairfax county would be great for me. And then perhaps take LO to the same place this winter. Hoping to, in fall get a monthly subscription to a rec center and get LO familiar with the water a few times a week. Hoping that with my newfound confidence post-training, I won't be so afraid of the water either. |
| OP. Suggestions for a place in NoVa you liked for swim lessons. TIA. |
| Sport and Health offers lessons to all ages and you don't have to be a gym member. |
| We like Machine Swim in Vienna |
| NP. I hope OP, you don't mind my adding a question here. I would appreciate suggestions in Lorton, Speingfield area. |
+1. Great for kids and adults. |
| In Alexandria, not Fairfax County, but Weaquatics is fantastic. They teach at the Chinquipin Rec Center on King Street. David and Brad Worrell are fantastic with little ones -- so patient, kind, and encouraging. We tried many other private instructors and were happiest with them. www.weaquatics.com |
