Has anyone ever been to the Hedonism resort in the Bahamas?

No went to the Jamaica hedonism and would not go again. Well unless you are into swinging since that it is that sort of place. I didn't know and had a weird week there--I am pretty conservative so I stayed around some friends on the "prude" side (we wore our clothes)-they had another side where no one wore clothes. Again-I would avoid if you don't want to get hit on constantly to hook up with couples etc. because there are many other nice places to go but again..if swinging is your thing--this would be the place.

PP - how did you end up there? Did you choose to go or was the group you vacation with going? I think they make it pretty obvious that this resort is not for the "pretty conservative."

My husband went (when he was single). He said it was remarkably fun and he did not "hook up". It is incredibly reasonable, and even the 90-foot dives were included in the price. As a curiousity, he did enjoy the nude side. Apparently, the good snack bar was on the nude side, so you had to disrobe to get the good food. He said there were just as many non-swingers as there were swingers. The crowd he hung out with (met there) were medical students from Iowa and quite conservative and not swingers.

I accidently got booked there. I had a week between a new job and went to a travel agency and asked where they thought I could have a fun and relaxing week--they suggested Hedonism since I could be set up with a roomate as a single person. Yes I am totally naive and was a lot younger then--I luckily wound up meeting up expectedly with some people from college otherwise it would have totally been a lot worse. Do think it was funny that on top of my friends from college, we also hung out with some medical students (hey maybe there is something about medical students) and they were pretty good guys--but I digress--we noticed that we on the prude side all were in pretty good shape while the nude side people, for the most part anyway, should have kept their clothes on!!! I did get hit on a lot by couples though and that was weird since I can handle myself pretty well with a guy doing the hitting on me but the couple thing is not my cup of tea and I didn't want to be rude....So again--if yo are totally unaffected by this sort of thing--go for it--if not, I have heard there is an awesome resort in Jamaica called Half Moon Bay that might be worth a look see.

I hate to ask but what is Hedonism? I would google it but I'm worried that strange things will pop up in my browser.

I am the poster who went there by mistake--it can happen, you have to understand that in the days before people were regularly using the Internet (this was 11 years ago), you would go to a travel agency and they would give advice and you would see hotel pictures and it all looked nice i.e. didn't say "swinger resort"--I do recall asking why would a resort call itself "hedonism" and the travel agent said it was so beautiful and fun that it was a sin to be there!! I probably should have talked to more people about it but I was sort of embarrassed to be going on a trip by myself and didn't want to make a big deal about it since I knew I wanted to go away to a beach before I worked another 60 hour a week job. I am also wondering what the travel agent must have thought about me to encourage me to go to this resort in the first place. Oh well.. As for the snack bar--I didn't venture that far but overall the food was pretty good.
