Jeff, how does one embed a youtube video on this site?

I tried various forms of HTML code, and none worked. Not sure why?

In the message form, click the "Youtube" icon in the toolbar". Then, past the Youtube URL. Make sure the URL is for "youtube.com" and not "youtu.be". Then, click the "Youtube" icon a second time. Then, go back to your Youtube URL and delete the "s" from "https://". For some reason the code only works with http and not https. I had fixed that at some point but it reverted. Then, submit your post.

Ignore my previous post. I have not only fixed the https problem, but improved how Youtube is handled. So, now just use the URL from your address bar (the address at the top of your browser). You can use http or https. Also, the videos will not be html5 instead of Flash.

Jeff--FYI, although https works about 80-90% of the time, as recently as last weekend, I had a case where I tried to use a https youtube link and it didn't work in the preview so I removed the s. Like I said, it works the majority of the time, but about 10% of the time it doesn't.

Yes, that was one of the problems I fixed today. We have two servers. Https worked on one but not the other. Now it works on both.

Great. Thanks. I appreciate the explanation as it now makes sense.

Firefox users need a youtube flash add-on to see them. You can Google "youtube flash add on mozilla firefox" and you will find the Mozilla add-on page to look for the add-on. Once you have the add-on installed, you should be able to see the videos again.

Thanks for letting me know. I'll look into the issue. Just to help out, can you tell me where a video has been posted that Firefox users can't see? I assume they can see all the old ones.

Actually the old ones aren't showing anymore either. I just checked a few.

Okay, I've fixed the Firefox issue. I couldn't explain why the change I made fixed it if my life depended on it, but it worked so I won't complain.
