Keep getting the following error when trying to post from Safari (and yes still need to update OS but am traveling at the moment.)

You will either laugh or cry depending on your disposition, but the problem is that the subject line of the message to which you are replying is too long. When you reply, it adds "Re: " which exceeds the max subject line length. I thought that I had increased the limit, but I'll have to look into it.

All you need to do is remove a word or two from the subject line and then post.

On second thought, while that subject line is long, I see that others have successfully replied. So, the problem may have been a stale database lock (I see some error messages about that in the log). In that case, you should be able to post now with no problem.

Thanks Jeff. Since I work with computers that would make me laugh. Have run into something like that myself a number of times. But think your 2nd explanation is correct - it happened on 3 separate posts and the first time I tried to post this message (I got through when I switched to Chrome)

So still not working from Safari on my iPhone, though Chrome went through fine. So apparently it is OS and browser specific. Will try closing out / clearing out my browser session.

Post clear out and phone reboot.

Well there we go. The good old 'when all else fails pull the plug and wait 10 seconds' appears to have reset things.

I'm glad you solved it. Sorry that neither of my ideas worked.

Yep. That and 'if all else fails, give it a hard smack'

Safari has its issues. I've often had to default to Chrome or Firefox to get something done.
