We usually get the notice around the end of August.

I hope you didn't request a teacher. Principals tend to not honor it when you do, out of principle. Fastest way to guarantee NOT getting a specific teacher is to make a request.

Mostly true but not always true. In some circumstances, they do accommodate.

To piggyback, do the teacher assignments include a list of school supplies that parents should contribute to the class? Wondering if we need to buy crayons, etc. for our rising K or if we will get told what to provide or pay for. Thanks!

Your school should have lists available on its website.

Check the school website now. At our school you bring the school supplies to the open house the week before school starts. Links for some schools are below, to give you an idea, but call the school if it's not on your child's school website. E.g. I couldn't find Jamestown's.

At Nottingham, class assignments are posted on the windows the day the letters go out. I talked to the office recently, and they are still trying to figure out how many students are going to show up due to Discovery and new kindergartners being enrolled daily.
