TIA.

OP, why don't you start?

Not yet. I am 35. I want to wait until I am done having children before I put that into my skin.

I'm tempted - not b/c I have lines there yet, but b/c I can't break the habit of raising my eyebrows and know it will be bad someday. I have the crazy theory that if I botox once, I'll be able to retrain myself from the constant eyebrow raising and then not have those lines to live with forever.

Im 37 and havent yet. Have TONS of wrinkles (i am pale, didnt wear enuf sunscreen, expressive face and wrinkles in the genes!)
My only reservation is money. And also if you start a 37 won't it be hard to stop--that's a long time and a lot of money over the yrs.
I am worried that if i stop then people will be like, "wow you look so tired!" etc and I will be forced to keep it up forever

Not yet. I am 35 and starting to see lines. I would absolutely do it if I could afford it, but it will be about 4 years before I expect I can afford more invasive cosmetic procedures than cremes.

I am 35 and do. I don't have many wrinkles but the few I have have the potential to get deep. I am also friends with the plastic surgeon's wife, so I get it at cost.

Yes. 42.

No. I am 40. I don't really have wrinkles yet, just a few tiny under eye lines. I just started using eye cream. I have good genes I guess. But, at about 65 my mom's eyes got really droopy with excesss skin, in fact her face got droopy not wrinkly, dose that make sense? Anmyway, I am not anti-plastic surgery but ever since I read the recent discovery that Botox toxins DO enter/permeate the brain, I have pretty much decided I will never do it. Eye-Lift, sure. Toxins in my head , no way. I guess if I age like my mom did it will be a moot point anyway...

Wait, some of you are implying that botox will help prevent further deepening of lines/wrinkles, or am I reading that wrong? What is the scoop with that?

42, and no. No lines yet.

Well, yes, I've heard this is true because if you start paralyzing the muscles in your face that create the lines now (at 30,35, whatever), they can't move to create future lines. And this is the argument for starting early, but then you need to keep up with it. I am not a fan and will most likely never do botox, although I would totally have an eye lift if I could convince my husband.

41, no, no lines yet, and even when I develop lines, I agree with the PP who said that ever since the discovery that the toxin does penetrate into the brain, she won't do it. I totally agree. I honestly think that a couple decades down the line, we are going to see major health effects from Botox.

Here is the link to an article about botox:

I'm 37, minimal to no lines, and have been getting injections 3-4x a year for 2 years. Both DH and I are very young looking for our age so I doubt anyone would guess that I'm a botox-er.
My dermatologist, who is not a big botox prescriber (old school practitioner who focuses on skin cancer screening and caring for diseases of the skin, not much cosmetic stuff) conceded that it's true that using botox can prevent certain wrinkles from forming, and agreed to do the injections for me after I pestered him several times. The effects are subtle, like I've gotten a lot of sleep.

I don't have a big hang-up about getting botox, and am not secretive about it, though I'm surprised at how quickly people pass judgment. I have 2 acquaintances who are pretty sanctimonious about how they'd never get botox, it's so vain, unnatural, toxic, embrace your natural looks, etc. But these women have no problem having chemicals soaking into their scalp through their bi-monthly "highlights" appointments and their fake blonde streaks, however expensively produced, don't exactly scream "I'm embracing my natural beauty."
