Anyone have any recommendations for driving distance from NoVa B&B's or small inn type places that have *one-night* stays allowed on weekends in September that they would recommend? DH and I have one night to go away for our anniversary and I keep finding great places...that require a two night minimum stay.
We're not on a huge budget crunch, but I wasn't thinking Inn at Little Washington or Salamander type prices -- probably max out around $300/nt. Would love if they have good food, but don't need much activity. Just want to sit and take in scenery/fresh air and relax. |
| Try a Friday night instead of a Saturday |
We are locked into a Saturday due to childcare availability, otherwise I would just change to two nights! |
| The Ashby in Paris. Lovely. Good restaurant too. It's about an hour away. |
Thanks for the suggestion! |
| What about Tides Inn? |
| Brampton Inn |

Omni Bedford Springs. We love it there.

Oh sorry, Bedford Springs isn't that small. Still can be very romantic
Charlottesville area would be a good place to look |
| Best of luck and let us all know where to go! Sept and especially October are peak times for weekend travel in the Va hunt and wine country, not surprised about the minimums. |
| The Jefferson in Richmond. Not a B&B, but very Grand. |
Looks great! Went to check availability and yeah...2 night min. I totally understand why most of the small places have that, but...ARGH. |
I will report back as soon as I get a place booked!
I do appreciate all the suggestions. We haven't ever stayed at Bedford Springs but did attend a lovely wedding there, maybe we'll give it a try if my 'romantic country inn' notion doesn't pan out! |
| Inn at Willow Grove in Orange seems nice. |
