HEPA - Vacuum and air purifier recs?

Anonymous
I have a dog and crazy dust/pollen allergies. Moving from condo into a SFH and buying a few items- anyone have these or other products they would vouch for?

Vacuum -- Miele C1 Capri, Miele C1 Titan, or other? Mostly have wood floors and area rugs, no carpet.

HEPA air purifier -- Have heard good things about Rabbit and Coway. Need 1 for bedroom and 1 or 2 for main level.

Anyone have thoughts on getting a high end C1 model (C1 is entry level) vs a low end C2 model (C2 is mid level)?
I hope to buy one vacuum to use over the next 15-20 years, so any insight into these models or Miele canister vacs in general would be appreciated!

(C2 Quartz for $429):

(C1 Titan for $599-20% = $480:)

I work in museums and hear very good things about Miele vacuums. If you want to go even higher market, look at the Nilfisk brand.

I have two IQ Airs (air purifier) in my house. One for each of the main floors. I am mostly allergic to pollen, although I am slightly allergic to my cats. I rarely take my allergy medicine anymore. It's sort of strange. I think the combo of the IQ Airs, wood floors, and no curtains in my house is a big help.

I cannot speak to the new Miele line but my canister was upper mid-range when I bought it back in 2000 for roughly $750 and it's STILL going strong! Honestly, the suction is just as strong on the Miele as with my central vacuum. Much better than the Dyson I bought when lured in by the British accent. If you plan on using this vacuum for the next 15 years (like I have)...it's worth spending more for the mid-range line with a good powerhead. I have the SEB 236 powerhead (the one with the height adjustment and light) but if you only have area rugs you'd be okay with the entry level powerhead. I prefer the mid range because the tools store under a cover and the bags are slightly larger. Absolutely have nothing but wonderful things to say about Miele.

I have the Blueair and would highly recommend it for air purifier.

Thanks for the advice re: Miele. I think I've decided on a C3 model as you recommended. Might as well put in an extra $200 and get the getter air seal features, etc.
I will look into the above recs for air purifiers. Thanks!
