Relocating laundry room

Anonymous
We are contemplating relocating our laundry room to the first floor from the basement as part of a larger renovation. Our contractor has quoted us $3200 to do all of the work, including rehanging some of the older kitchen cabinets in the room. I have no idea if this is reasonable or not. Anyone done something similar and can tell me around what they paid. No gas line involved. Just water and electrical. Thanks!!

I haven't done this but that seems very reasonable. I would have assumed at least $1500 for getting pipes in the new space. $500 for electrical. And $1200 for your contractor's time to oversee and do the cabinets.

That sounds very reasonable.

Unfortunately, we have no room on the 2nd floor. I also do laundry at night (throw a load in before bed) and would not want to hear the machine going while I'm trying to sleep.
