GI doc and any similar experiences?

Can someone recommend a GI doctor in Alexandria? Preferably a woman, but would also see a male doctor. I know this has been asked before but it seems the posts are quite old or a lot of the recs are in MD.
Also, anyone experienced something similar to this (apologize for the TMI): I'm experiencing bleeding with bowel movements off and on, particularly during my periods. During my period I will get incredibly painful intestinal cramping and then bloody tissue from rectum. Clearly I am going to the doctor but wondered if anyone experienced anything like this?

Have you considered this could be an OB GYN issue such as endometriosis?
