Subaru Forester As a Family Car?

Anonymous
Does the Subaru Forester work as a family car with 2 car seats. What do you like and dislike about this car?

I don't have one. My friend does. She absolutely loves it. Great mileage, handling, and she says it's fun. It's had some quirks with the electrical system however. That's the only downside I've heard.

I have a 2005 Forester. It's been great. I only needed to use it with one car seat, though.

You can fit a lot into it. It has great safety ratings. I've had no problems mechanically with it. Great visibility out of the big rear window.

The only drawbacks I've seen: The seats seems to stain easily (and with kids, there are always going to be spills), and city gas mileage is only about 18. I've gotten 29-30 on long highway trips, however.

We had one and loved it. I thought it handled well, and it was roomy enough for my 6'1" DH but compact enough for my 5'3" self.

Mine was a 2004.

Most cars will fit two car seats comfortably. I currently have an Audi A3 (a smallish hatchback) with two car seats in it.
