How to 'Game' the Search Function

Is there a way to make the search function more useful? I've tried using key words or the title of the thread as I recall it, but end up with a 14 pages of posts from 2008. I'm wondering if there's a better way that I just don't know.

Down on the right you can search by date instead of by relevance. That helps if you're looking for a recent thread.

I am strangely good at this - is there one particular thread I can help you find?

As the PP says, sorting the results by time rather than relevance often helps. You can also use the search box at the top of each forum listing to limit the search to a single forum. Finally, you can search using Google by putting "site:www.dcurbanmom.com search terms" in the search field.
