| Any suggestions on how to handle a civil citation? Do I need to get lawyer? |
| Yes. |
|
My dd was busted with alcohol when she was underage and we didn't use or need a lawyer. We had to go meet with a juvenile justice person (I can't remember her actual title), and dd had to write an essay. This was in Anne Arundel county.
Is the offender under 18? |
What's the worst that can happen without paying a lawyer? |
|
Having just been a Merriweather I am shocked anyone gets busted there. The pot smoking and drinking by under aged kids was ridiculous. Man do I sound old.
Sorry OP, no help but I would at least consult a lawyer to be safe. |
Same experience here and it happened in Carroll county. Is she a minor? |
| Op disappeared? |
| Op here -- thanks, she is 19. Just wondering if a lawyer is necessary since it is a civil citation. |
| If she is 19 then I would say yes. |
|
Definitely get one. Call Paul Mack at Shapiro and Mack.
-Local Howard County person. |

14:42 here - oh and make her pay for 100% of it.
Rephrase - SHE needs a lawyer. At 19, its not we anymore. Make her take responsibility for this. She'll learn from it that way. |
| I'm also surprised the police did anything at MPP -- i always understood this to be a big teen drinking scene. Unfortunately, I agree that you should get a lawyer. They do this all the time. |
| What might happen if she doesn't get a lawyer? |
She may have been acting a fool |
