DH and I are going on a trip without the kids for our anniversary next year. This will probably be our last trip for awhile since the kids will start school, etc. We will probably have about 9 days. I am thinking about doing either a trip to London and Paris, or a trip to several places in Italy. Which do you think is better? TIA
Have you done either before? This is really not a bad choice. Both would be good. I lean towards Italy, but it really depends on what you think would be best.
I don't know! I have never been to either and I am really torn!
I'm a sucker for Paris. The city is magic. I would do Paris and London for sure! Have an incredible time!
+1000!! We did this for our honeymoon last late August early September. Amazing! A few times a week one of us still goes out of the blue "remember how awesome our honeymoon was"? |
What month? What's the budget? What languages do you speak? Rent a car or use transport? What are your interests?
would you rather do 2 cities or three?
Venice. Or Paris and then Venice.
I find Rome absolutely wonderful. Add in a trip to Venice and it is a perfect trip. London and Paris are lovely also, but they are major cities and I find them to be like major cities anywhere. Although Rome is also a major city, the ruins change everything for me. I travel to Europe frequently for work and the one city I really want to go back and explore is Prague.

I go for the tour of Italy. Rome, Venice, and Florence. You get the city in Rome, the art in Florence, and the ambiance in Venice (my favorite). Of course, you really get art and ambiance in all of them!

May - as cheap as humanly possible - English and Arabic - I'd prefer transport but DH is an excellent driver in big cities - I love everything, art, architecture shopping, sightseeing, beaches, DH likes beaches and horses. |
I liked Italy because I like the food, language and relaxed culture. But Paris and London are both wonderful too, with great museums.
London and Paris!
Ugh, guys, I need some sort of consensus! I am not a very decisive person, hence why I ask for DCUM to make most of my decisions for me.
