OP here. Thanks for everyone's recommendations---I too was tending towards nude sandals/peep toe pump. I also have misgivings about the bow on the bum, but I liked the rest of the dress so much that I am willing to give it a go . . .

My dilemma re the shoes is that if the style is too "retro"---then I look like I'm going to a Mad Men costume party. So I want something that works with the dress without going over the top.
