Heading to Hilton Head in a few weeks. We've been reading up on all the typical things to do, popular restaurants, and daytrips.
What else is there to do? Stuff that's less touristy, inexpensive, restaurants that don't sell t-shirts and are cheap/awesome, etc. We're not sporty types

I've done the Alligator and Wildlife Boat Tour and we enjoyed it. Try to go in the morning before it gets too hot.

| Take the ferry over to Dafuskie Island; rent a golf cart and see a number of historic sights; check out the art galleries (esp. the Iron Fish); the beaches are deserted and there are lots of shells; grab lunch then ferry back. Definitely a fun day trip. |
| One restaurant we enjoyed was Annie O's Southern Eats, just outside of Sea Pines. It's a small, unassuming place with the best collard greens I've ever tasted. |
One of my favorite restaurants (Roastfish and Cornbread) closed but the chef has opened a new place up back across in Bluffton called Burnin' Down South. Try it and report back please
Love the frozen yogurt and hippie food (juices, vegetarian stuff) at Delishee Yo. Watusi is great for coffee and sandwiches. Fabulous food at Charlie's Etoile Vert. Somewhat more upscale than most of the vacation restaurants on the island, but we've taken our young kids and had nice dinners. Porter & Pig is new and has good food and drinks. It's at The Village at Wexford which is less crowded with some nice shopping. |
