cleaning upholstery with rug doctor rental?

| My dad has about 6 to 8 pieces of upholstered furniture that I would like to clean up without breaking the bank. Has anyone tried using the rug doctor rental to clean upholstery.? Would that be a time-consuming disaster or worthwhile? |
