Saying goodbye - parent in nursing home

I feel like this is the beginning of the end. How often are you able to visit your long distance (over 500 miles) parent in a nursing home?

You will have to find a way. We moved our parent to a nursing home close to us so we could visit at least weekly, if not more.

So far every two months. Southwest Airlines to Florida.

Depends what family is in town. Some of my northern family are snow birds. Then I'm on deck.

My mom has been able to visit for 2.5 months and then one month since her dad has been in the nursing home. She won't go for awhile though now most likely bc I'm due with her first grandchild any day now, and I know it's hard for her to not feel torn for wanting to be in both places at once.
