What is an exburb? Please give a few examples too. THANKS! |
loudon, centreville, great falls |
Interesting, I live in dc and still consider great falls and centreville suburbs.
I'd consider Leesburg or Manassass to be exurbs. Maybe Frederick. An exurb is such that the population identifies more with their town than the large city they commute to. |
I consider most things outside the beltway exurbs |
I agree with 0:05.
|
I consider anything in a county that doesn't touch DC - ie PW, Manassas, Loudoun, etc.
Centreville and GF are farther out suburbs but not ex burbs IMO. |
Centreville is literally right next to manassas, so that's a little funny.

This |
An exurb is Loudon County, etc. |
Definition of EXURB. : a region or settlement that lies outside a city and usually beyond its suburbs and that often is inhabited chiefly by well-to-do families.
So Great Falls might be considered an exurb, but really I think it's too close. Middleburg is what I'd consider an exurb of DC. |

Whose definition is this? |
+1 |
Definitely Leesburg. Maybe even Stafford.
In MD, it's tougher because Frederick Co. residents tend to associate more with Frederick Co.; although that's changed and is still changing. In the next 5-10 years, it will probably considered a solid exurb. |
No, it's a small town. Ashburn is an exurb. Definition: a place that sucks. |
Exactly. If it's so far out in distance and in mind that you cannot spell it correctly, it's an ex-burb. LoudoUn is a perfect example. |
