BASIS in coming family meet and greets

We are a new family (5th grader) from the Logan Circle area and are wondering if there are others in the area that might like to get together before school starts? Or, alternatively, if anyone knows of a listserv I could join that might include such information?

Basis parent not from Logan Circle. Are you looking for kid meetups or parent meetups?

The optional BOSS program (week of 8/18) is a good way for the kids to meet classmates prior to the first day of school. Registration info is on the school website.

Also the last couple of years there have been ice cream socials for new kids and parents during the first few days of school.

I guess both. We're doing BOSS for sure but weren't sure if we were missing anything else. We were unable to attend the rooftop social in May(April?) and weren't sure if we missed being on a communication list of some sort....

You aren't missing anything. There's a small unofficial listserv that isn't very active and doesn't (yet) include new families. Any events - school or Booster organized - that are happening will be announced through email that will come to the school.

School was on she down until today, so there is really nothing going on right now. Sometimes neighborhoods will organize potluck so for parents and kids so maybe ask on your neighborhood listserv?
