3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths. The downstairs has an open kitchen, dining room and living room.
I'm also looking for paint color ideas. This is a rental so we want something crisp and clean looking. No beige and no stark white. |
What do you really need? 2 coats of wall paint, 2 coats ceiling paint, trim/doors etc? The cost will also depend on how many colors, type of paint you /they recommend. Our quote to paint 1200 sq feet from dry wall so primer, 2 coats of wall/ceiling paint, doors, trim and multiple colors (5) was $12,000! We decided to do it ourselves, room by room. |
It's expensive. We recently paid about $5,000 for about 1,000 sq ft, but this was part of an overall renovation.
I hope you asked your landlord for permission to do this. I use professional painters and I don't want tenants goofing it up with their own color choices and sloppy handiwork. Even if a landlord grants permission to a tenant to paint, they will usually require that they repaint back to the way it was at the end of the lease. If I found out that a tenant had painted without my permission I would be extremely upset. Assuming you have permission, your best color choice is a light gray. It's fresh and very 'in' right now. If you're lucky, your landlord will like it and decide to keep the paint job. |
I assumed OP *is* the landlord. |
Whoops! You're probably right. In any case, one of my favorite paint colors is Edgecomb Gray (BM); it's a soft taupe. White trim. |
