Hi AllMy federal employee kaiser covers infertility at 50% co-pay (meds, testing, procedures). I recently hit our out of pocket max for the year and was pleasantly surprised to find my pharmacy no longer charging me for meds (including all the expensive IVF injectables) and some (but not all) of my procedures being covered with no co-pay. I really didn't think the out of pocket max applied to infertility and I am not inclined to call the insurance company to inquire at this point. Has anyone else had experience hitting the out of pocket max on their insurance?

| We did with a United Healthcare policy. On the UH website, it shows how much we've paid towards our max. And when we hit the max a couple of years ago, there was a little note (and our EOBs showed all of our subsequent financial obligations as =$0). Check your EOBs. |

Oh yeah, there was this moment in our third IVF cycle where the OOP max kicked in, with Cigna. If I need another round this year (fingers crossed I don't), it will be "free." And then we will have hit the cap on our coverage and we'll be done. I feel lucky to have such good insurance coverage, because there's no way we would have paid $17,000 x3 in the face of such low odds of success.
