Our vacation just cancelled due to a med emergency and I need to find a camp for my 6 year old rising first grade girl. Any suggestions as to camps that may have drop in spaces? St Patricks is totally full. Thanks. |
Silver Stars in Silver Spring (but easily accessible via East West Highway) nearly always has spaces.
Headfirst in DC is usually pretty easy in the middle of the summer. |
Landon Day Camp and other camps in private schools.
County camps usually have openings as well. Depends on how much you're willing to spend ![]() |
Kids After Hours -- call them and find the closest location. Am sure there are several in Bethesda (at public schools) and they typically take last minute campers. And, KAH is great!

Try CommuniKids in Tenleytown. |
Try summer horizons at nps. You can attend week to week. |
Check out the Anthony Bowen YMCA and the National Capital YMCA--they may still have openings. |
Home Run Baseball Camp in Turtle Park - can even drop in just for the day or half-day.
Gamma Academy in downtown Bethesda may have space. It's a martial arts school, but their summer camp has arts and crafts, trip to parks and pool, and is generally very laid back. My kids did it last year and LOVED it, so are going back this year. |
