Where to advertise attorney job?

Anonymous
My small firm is looking for a new associate with 3-5 years experience. We posted in a legal publication and didn't get any viable applicants. Where else do attorneys look for jobs? I've always been hired by word of mouth. I'm putting feelers out to see if we can find someone that way, but really need someone to start ASAP so trying to figure out how else to get possible applicants! Any suggestions? We plan to notify the local law schools and bar associations but don't have any other ideas.

local law schools and indeed.

Also, don't only go to the career services office. Also contact professors in the field at the local law schools. They will be able to recommend specific candidates.

Craigslist. Seriously. This is how we found our stellar associate.

What are you looking for - lit, corp, tax? I am a 5th year associate and a job seeker but have not specifically checked any of the trade publciations (until tonight). I do check my alma mater's job board, Craigslist, WaPo, and the bar associations. Do you have a link to your earlier legal publication listing?.

My firm is currently looking for associates, and we placed ads in the FCBA newsletter, the National Law Journal, and lawjobs.com.

Ask Jeff if you can advertise on DCUM!

Thanks for all the suggestions! Will check into these options. For the PP who asked, it is a litigation position in primarily family law.
