We are in the process of planning our family vacations, which mainly include little weekend getaways. Can anyone tell me from experience if Busch Gardens would be any fun for our 23 month old?
Any other suggestions for weekend getaways with a toddler? We are still fairly new to the area and want to take full advantage of its proximity to different destinations. |
It has been years since I went to Busch Gardens - but I don't remembering it being too much for the little kids. Go back a page in this board and read about travel with toddlers. There were some suggestions there.
I wrote this. We took our 23 month old to Dutch Wonderland last summer and it was perfect. Lancaster, PA. You can go to Dutch Wonderland, go to the children's museum, ride in a horse and buggy, go to Cherry Crest Farms, and swim in your hotel swimming pool (look at Willow Valley Resort - they have an indoor mini water park.) We go every year and have a blast. Perfect for that age group and very affordable. It is about 2.5 hours from DC. |
Busch Gardens has a Sesame Street themed kids area opening this year that looks like it might be fun for your little one.
Also as the other poster mentioned Dutch Wonderland is good for that age group and I'd like to add that so is Hershey Park. And you go also do Sesame Place up in PA, as well as, visit the Crayola Factory. |
Another vote for Dutch Wonderland and the Lancaster, PA area in general for a weekend getaway with a toddler. If you do a search, there are several past posts about Dutch Wonderland. |
