Soda and beer- ok to go from cold to warm and back?

Anonymous
bought some Izzes soda and beer for a party and have leftovers taking up room in my fridge. Is it ok to put them back in the pantry until next party or is it bad for them to go back and forth between temps? Thanks.

Light is the enemy of beer. Not temps.

As long as you don't subject it to anything above room temp.

Soda, no problem.

Beer, once it's been cold, should stay cold. If you go back and forth, it can get "skunky."
(If you don't remember this flavor from high school or college, it can actually start smelling a little like skunk.)

No problem. You enjoy your skunky beer. I'll enjoy mine cold and skunk-free.
