We moved into a house that was redone by a wealthy 80-year-old woman. My read on her decorating style is that she wanted her little old lady friends to know that she had money. Accordingly, she went way overboard in some of her selections. The most egregious is the lighting in the dining room. It's huge and heavy and ornate. I don't even know what the style would be called, other than overdone and old-fashioned.
Anyway, we plan to replace it soon with something more to our liking, but wonder whether there isn't a way to get some money out of what I am sure was a very expensive purchase for the original owner. Anyone know of a place that takes these kinds of things on consignment? Anyone have luck selling something like this, and if so, how? Thanks for the help!!
