Ideas for (adult) birthday party catering

Anonymous
We are looking to feed about 30 people, all adults. It would be a set food out and eat when you want kind of thing, not a formal sit down dinner. Nothing too fancy... for example, when we did a similar party last year we did BBQ (pulled pork sandwiches, cole slaw, beans). I'd do that again but don't want to repeat. Ideally the place would do drop off and pickup and provide warmers, not sure we need an actual person to stick around. Any interesting suggestions of places you've either used or been to a party where they did and thought the food was super yummy? This in NOVA. TIA!

That's a great idea, I wasn't too familiar with them but DH would love that. Thanks!

We did kabobs, rice, bread, salad, etc. from Moby Dick Kabob. They do not deliver, but everything was in large serving containers and people raved about it.

Maggianos will deliver, not sure about warmers though.

+1 on Zoe's kitchen. So good! (and cheap!)

They will provide warmers. I recommend Maggiano's. We just used them for an event and it was extremely easy to order. They come set up (but do not stay and clean up, but it wasn't hard to just throw out the trays). They provide sternos, eating and serving utensils, plates, napkins and a tablecloth if you don't want to deal with getting your own stuff. Their packages include bread, salad and dessert and are very reasonably priced compared to other places that will do catering.

CalTort or Chipotle.

how "adult" are we talking here... like x-rated?

We use R &r catering. They have "parties to go" or something like that on their website. I like them because of the different varieties.

We are using Luke's Lobster's for second time for DH BD: FUN summer party theme. We are getting Lobster rolls and will supplement with some salads from WF.

FYI if you go this route the steak kabobs are fantastic. The chicken just OK. We usually do about half steak and the rest a combo of salmon, shrimp, chicken and veggie.

So surprised by the good quality at Lukes. I've never had a decent lobster roll in this area until I had one at Lukes. I guess somehow they manage to NOT freeze the lobster which always degrades the quality and results in watery mush.
