“A new report out this week from Pregnancy Justice found that since 2022, 210 women have been prosecuted for “crimes” related to their pregnancies. According to an AP story, “Wendy Bach, a professor at the University of Tennessee College of Law and one of the lead researchers on the project, said one of the cases was when a woman delivered a stillborn baby at her home about six or seven months into pregnancy. It’s internalized misogyny. You know women like this. Those other women have made bad decisions, didn’t keep their legs together, couldn’t get their acts together and accept the blessing God has sent… there are a few flavors of self hating women but we have all met them. They’re putting those women in a “they did something wrong” box, thinking that it will be different for them when they need an abortion. For lack of a better short word, it’s a very “pick me” mindset, that if they’re only well behaved and not troublesome like those hairy legged feminazis they’ll be protected. Jokes on you, ladies, the forced birther misogynist men in your life hate all women. They have the same contempt for you as they do for those other women. These women who will vote affirmatively for their own enslavement know this on some level, but they cannot and will not admit that they live a lie. |

There are monsters in this world who would argue with a straight face that it’s better for those children to “have a chance,” even if that means forcing a new mom and dad watch their children struggle, in agony, to get oxygen that its little body can’t process. Abortion is murder, those same monsters would say, and “life” is the only option, even if “life” means that a woman can never get pregnant and give birth again. The cruelty is the point. The death is the point. Making society as ugly and depraved as possible is the point. |

The people who talk like that are telling you that unless they personally experience a thing, it doesn’t matter to them, and they genuinely can’t figure out why anyone would care about something unless it personally afflicted them. Or: sociopaths. |

Also... those women are assuming that IF such a "situation" should arise in their lives such that an abortion is needed, they will just fly to NY or MD or CA to get it! They aren't thinking this through. It's a failure to imagine worst case scenarios. They assume it won't happen to them, and if it does, they'll have options. They don't care about others who don't have options... they see them as beneath themselves. |

A brief listen to any of the misogynistic crap that the middle school edgelord JD has said on any number of podcasts (and that Trump campaign either didn’t bother to research or weren’t bothered enough to put them in the research packet) should tell you that this is very obviously the case. The dead and dying women, the dead neonates, that should tell you that’s the case too, that “life” was never the point. It is entirely about establishing Christian nationalism as the state religion, and that one of the biggest pillars of fascism, of which Christian nationalism is a part of, is controlling women and keeping them in the home. |
