IKEA beds. Do you have one and do you like it? Do the slats make a difference?

I keep on reading how he IKEA bed slats fail. Is it just people buying the cheapest ones? Being overweight?

I think people just buy the cheapest slats and complain once they put it in wrong and break them.

We've had Ikea slats on the kids beds for a few years and it has been fine. I greatly discourage jumping on the bed because I'm pretty sure the slats will break if they do. The nice part is that you can replace them inexpensively if/when they do break.

We got the cheap one for our son/twin and reinforced it with more wood. No issues.

Our kids have only had ikea beds and we've had zero issues.

I've had an IKEA bed with the cheapest slats on it for over ten years and it is doing just fine. It used to have a box spring and traditional mattress, but now has a heavy memory foam mattress,no box spring.
