Donating bed (and other household furniture)

We have a bed in excellent condition that wish to donate to a charity. The bed is heavy so we would prefer that the folks come and pick it up. Any suggestions? (we live in Washington DC)

Try Habitat for Humanity, they pick up.

Or, you could list it for free on trashnothing.com - not charity, but I bet you'd be rid of it quickly!

I would do craigslist. I sell often on craiglist for free or close to free. Most of the people picking up really do need the furniture and I feel like I'm helping someone out.

Salvation Army will pick up furniture.

If you're willing to give it away but not to charity, it can be gone today if you post on Craigslist.
