Also posted this in the 50+ forum. I have a 2 year old and am 22 weeks pregnant with my 2nd and my dad is turning 60 in a couple of weeks. We're flying up there for a visit but I'd love to do something special for him / even get him something special for a present. I haven't had a chance to think about this milestone birthday and feel bad! Any suggestions or creative things you've seen that I can buy easily / put together quickly? |
Take a bunch of old family photos to Walgreens and they will scan them and put them in a book for you. |
Thanks, I'll talk to my mom about this - she has the access to those right now... |
For my father in law we sent an email to all his friends asking for a favorite memory that they had with him. Asked them to embellish and send pics. Sentimental and a lot of fun o read. Printed out any pics in color and gave to him in a nice gift box. |
For DH's 55th birthday, we booked a photo session at Picture People with me and the kids plus DH's brother and wife. We had it framed right there and wrapped it with a big ribbon. He loved it! |
Do they have a Pinstripes (or something similar)? We recently celebrated an Uncle's milestone birthday there. Our group consisted of my just-turned-3 year old, a couple of elementary school kids, some teenagers, and adults aged 30-75. We played bocce ball, then had dinner and drinks. It was a little bit of a long night for my son (I would have left early had his older cousins not taken him out for a walk). Bocce ball worked out really well, we let ds roll some balls in between rounds. Adults had fun. |
